POLICE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR TWO MEN AFTER ARMED ROBBERY ATTEMPT
Police have released a computer-generated image as part of their investigations into an attempted armed robbery in Tamworth earlier today.
Just before 4:30am, two men entered a service station on White Street, and approached a female employee.
Armed with a knife and a firearm, they demanded cash.
A man in the store tackled one of the men, and following a struggle he was able to wrestle the firearm free.
The alleged robbers then ran from the store, fleeing in a stolen white Mitsubishi Magna that was later discovered on fire in Anthony Road, South Tamworth.
Police would now like to speak to two men who may be able to assist them.
The man in the computer-generated image is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged between 18-25 years, about 170cm tall, of a medium build, and with a short trimmed beard.
He was last seen wearing a black and pink/purple hooded jumper, brown pants, white shoes, and carrying a large hunting knife.
The second man is described as being of a medium/solid build, and was last seen wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper, grey track pants, black shoes, with a balaclava covering his face.
