For many towns on the Mid North Coast, fireworks will mark the start of the new year, but for our four legged friends, it’s often a scary and stressful time.
The public is being urged to lock up pets tonight, to prevent them from running away.
“We’d just like to get the message out there that dogs are scared of loud noises and fireworks and we need to ensure they’re kept safe and secured at home.”
Pounds across the region are expected to become inundated with pets, and council says it’s easier to reunite them with their owners if they’re microchipped.
