TAMWORTH MAYOR AND DEPUTY REELECTED FOR FURTHER 12 MONTHS

Tamworth Regional Council will retain its current leadership, with the city’s mayor and deputy mayor re-elected for a further 12 months.

It’ll be Mayor Col Murray’s ninth term in office following a unanimous vote from his peers.

His deputy, Phil Betts, received six votes – three more than fellow councillor Juanita Wilson.

The local government election is due to take place in September next year.
