Police have been called-in to negotiate with a man on a yacht at Lake Macquarie, after he refused to put out a small fire he’d lit on the vessel.
The man allegedly threatened officers with a large knife, while breaking up pieces of the yacht and setting them on fire.
He then climbed up the mast, throwing an object, before preparing flares.
Police are still speaking with the man.
