MOTHER AND SIX CHILDREN ESCAPE HOUSE FIRE

Police say a fire, which tore through a Georgetown home overnight, may have been started by young children playing with a cigarette lighter.
Fire crews were called to the Moate Street property at about 7:30, and arrived to find the two front rooms well alight.
It took more than an hour to bring the blaze under control.
A mother and six children managed to escape unharmed.
The property’s owner says insurance assessors will inspect the damage next week.
