OPALS FALL SHORT BY A POINT IN ASIAN CUP FINAL

The Australian women’s basketball team has suffered a heartbreaking loss to Japan in the final of the Asia Cup, losing 74 points to 73.

There was little between the two sides throughout the game.

Belinda Snell had a chance to win it for the Opals in the dying seconds, but her shot was off.

In some consolation for Australia, Kelsey Griffin was named tournament MVP, after averaging almost 18 points and nine rebounds a game.
