The New South Wales State Government has announced that Stage 5 of the Newcastle Inner City Bypass will incorporate a full interchange at John Hunter Hospital.
It is hoped that the interchange will alleviate traffic congestion at John Hunter Hospital during peak hour.
The new interchange will also provide alternative means of access to the hospital in cases of emergency.
Stage 5, or the what has come to be known as the “missing link” of the Inner City Bypass project connects Rankin Park to Jesmond, and should improve traffic flow across the Lower Hunter.
