RENEWED CALLS TO BAN THE BAG

The Shadow Environment Minister has renewed calls for the Berejiklian Government to ban single-use plastic bags, during a visit to Newcastle.

Penny Sharpe today met with the local members and environmentalists to push for change.

“The estimate is within a decade, 90 per cent of all sea life will have some plastic in their body. We need to take action now. Single use plastic bags, easy to do, we’re ready for it, we just need to get on with it,” said Ms Sharpe.
