Two people suffered facial injuries and had property stolen in a violent incident on the Gold Coast overnight.
Police say a group of people were talking in a car park at The Spit on Main Beach, when ten vehicles arrived just after 11pm.
A man, who arrived in a utility, approached a 20-year-old man from the group and proceeded to assault him.
A 20-year-old woman tried to intervene, but the man then assaulted her.
The woman was also assaulted by other females who had arrived in the vehicles, and she had her car keys and mobile phone stolen during the assault.
The offenders then fled the scene in their vehicles.
The man and woman both sustained facial injuries and were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.
