BOOST TO REGIONAL SPORT
There was no beating around the bush today, the state government announcing $100-million for regional sports facilities.
Some of that has already been allocated to the soon-to-be-built Northern Inland Centre of Sporting Excellence.
“In Tamworth, we were up there a number of months ago, where already they have a number of significant pieces of sporting infrastructure on the ground, we announced $4.5-million for an upgrade of the existing sports precinct,” Deputy Premier, John Barilaro.
Both new and existing projects are eligible for funding.
“Driving more visitation to Tamworth, so it’s all about tourism. When you grow the economy off the back of tourism, you’ll find clearly that, that creates jobs and that’s great for the economy,” Deputy Premier, John Barilaro.
