SHARK DRUMLINES INFORMATION SESSIONS

Locals will have the chance this weekend to find out more about the Shark drumlines set to be deployed off beaches from Coffs Harbour to Sawtell.
10 of the drumlines will be put in place from next week for a 6 month trial, as part of the state government’s shark management strategy.
The Department of Primary Industries claims the drumlines are four times more effective than mesh nets, with minimal by-catch.
Information sessions are being held tomorrow at the Coffs Harbour Surf Club from 9 to 2, and at the Sawtell Surf Club from 8 till 1 on Sunday.
