Newcastle maritime workers downed tools this morning as part of a 48-hour strike over proposed pay cuts.
The union has labelled the cuts ‘savage’… and says some staff at Qube Ports would be $10,000 worse off.
Partial work bans will also take place for the next two weeks.
Qube has previously said it’s seeking a reduction in pay rates to allow operations to continue.
