NEW INDUSTRIAL HUB ON THE CARDS FOR TAMWORTH

Business could soon be booming in Tamworth with council set to get the ball rolling on a new industrial hub for the city.
Councillors are expected to support a planning proposal at tomorrow night’s meeting – which would see a 250-hectare parcel of land near the airport rezoned to heavy industrial.
The site located between Marathon Street at Westdale and the Glen Artney Estate was bought by council bought last year and is adjacent to the proposed intermodal freight terminal.
If support by council, the proposal would then be forwarded to the state department of planning for determination.
