Here’s a bit more about this week’s guests:
Peta Dampney is a lived experience speaker for Suicide Prevention Australia and Roses in the Ocean. She has contributed to suicide prevention projects here in Newcastle as well as nationally. Peta is a lived experience representative for LifeSpan Newcastle and is a lived experience consultant, writer, advocate and spokesperson. She is passionate about promoting safe conversations about suicide as well as the great need for increased funding for research and supporting evidence based programs to reduce the rate of suicide deaths and attempts in Australia.
Danielle Adams is Operations Manager for The Way Back Support Service at Hunter Primary Care. Danielle is also a Clinical Psychologist. The Way Back Support Service is a collaboration with local agencies including Calvary Mater Newcastle, Hunter New England Mental Health, Hunter Institute of Mental Health and Relationships Australia. The Way Back Support Service is a trial initiative and referrals are via Calvary Mater Newcastle following self-harm. Dr Katie McGill is a clinical psychologist with a passion for translating suicide prevention evidence into practice. She holds two positions- she is one of the two LifeSpan Newcastle coordinators with Hunter Institute of Mental Health as well as being the Suicide Prevention Research Manager with Hunter New England Mental Health Service.
