A woman will face Belmont Local Court today over the stabbing of a man yesterday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to a Belmont house after reports the 42-year-old man had been stabbed twice in the chest.
He is in a stable condition in John Hunter Hospital.
Officers arrested a 37-year-old woman and charged her with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
