RFS KEEPING CLOSE EYE ON FIRES

The RFS is monitoring dozens of bushfires across the Mid North Coast.

A large blaze has burned through more than 1400 hectares of coastal swamp at Clybucca, north-east of Kempsey, with fears it could threaten homes.

While further south, an out-of-control fire sent smoke into the sky next to the Pacific Highway at Cooperabung.

Close to 30 fires are currently burning between Forster and Grafton.
