TEENS TO FACE COURT OVER ALLEGED FAMILY HOLD-UP
Two teenagers have been charged after an alleged hold-up of a family at Lake Macquarie.
Police say the family were sitting in their car at Speers Point Park on Saturday, when they were approached by two men armed with knives.
A 38-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman suffered minor injuries during the incident.
Police subsequently charged two boys, aged 16 and 15, with aggravated robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon.
Several items including knives and balaclavas were also allegedly seized during the execution of a search warrant at a home on Park Road in Speers Point yesterday.
Both boys will appear before a Children’s Court later this month.
