The Rural Fire Service is reminding landowners in Gunnedah and on the Liverpool Plains the bushfire danger period is now underway.
It will stay in place until next March, property owners must now obtain a fire permit from their local brigade or fire control centre before conducting any burns.
Anyone caught without a permit could face hefty fines.
