CREWS BATTLE GRASS FIRE AT LAKE MUNMORAH

Fire and Rescue crews have extinguished a grass fire at Lake Munmorah today, which began along the boundary fence of a power station.

More than 60 firefighters were called in at around 11 o’clock to Scenic Drive at Colongra and had to backburn to reach the blaze.

It has since been contained, with the exact cause to be investigated by police.
