With a total fire ban in place across the the mid north coast from midnight last night, firefighters were bracing themselves for the worst, and it seems their fears have been realised.
Over 20 firefighters are currently at the scene of a blaze at Nambucca’s Highland Park Road, which is fast encroaching on Nambucca State Forest.
The fire has spread across 42 hectares and they’re struggling to get it under control.
