FIRE RIPS THROUGH NAMBUCCA VALLEY
Firefighters were hoping cooler temperatures might have helped ease the threat of bushfires across New South Wales today – but that wasn’t the case on the south and mid north coasts.
These pictures are just in of fires burning near Bowraville, south west of Coffs Harbour.
15 crews are on the ground, trying to contain the blazes off Missabotti Road and Bellingen Road, with help from the air.
Firefighters also spent 45 minutes locating a woman and her child, seen running from the flames… before she was found safe at a neighbouring residence.
One of the fires ripped through a wrecking yard, incinerating 56 cars.
Both blazes are now at advice level.
