Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou has named a preliminary 30-man squad for October’s World Cup playoff series against Syria.
Skipper Mile Jedinak returns, despite fears his groin injury hasn’t fully healed, while former Newcastle Jets Craig Goodwin and Mark Birighitti have also been added.
Postecoglou will finalise a 23-player squad next week, for the two games.
