UNDERGROUND COAL MINE’S FUTURE IN COMMISSION’S HANDS

The future of a proposed underground coal mine near Wyong is now in the hands of the state’s Planning Assessment Commission.
The Department of Planning has referred its report on the Wallarah Two Coal Project to the independent body.
It believes it’s in the public interest that the multi-million dollar project is approved, subject to conditions.
It’s unclear how long the commission will take to hand down its findings.
