FINALLY SOME COMMON-SENSE FOR COFFS BUSINESS
In a bid to boost business in the Coffs Harbour CBD, the city’s council is to drop permits and licensing rules for the use of footpaths by local businesses.
Under a ‘ Trading Places’ trial, which will be conducted over six months, businesses will be permitted A-frame signs, merchandise displays and outdoor dining.
The Coffs Harbour City Council says the decision is a more common-sense approach to making the city centre more colourful and interesting.
The changes will allow retailers and traders to have more ownership of their footpath spaces.
