YOWIES CLAIM 2017 KOORI KNOCKOUT GRAND FINAL

The Koori Knockout league tournament will head back to the Hunter in 2018, after the Newcastle Yowies won today’s grand final.
Newcastle Rugby League player of the year Ryan Walker made the decider his own.
“He scored a try like this in the semi – how good is that individually.”
The Yowies led 10-nil at half time, before NRL star Andrew Fifita helped Griffith get back in it.
But when Walker bagged a double, the decider was effectively over.
Fifita was humble in defeat.
“That’s football. It come down to 80 minutes and to be honest it was the toughest 80 minutes I’ve ever played, but they deserved the win.”
