NSW MARITIME TO COLLECT EXPIRED FLARES AT LOCAL BOATRAMPS

Boaters across the state will be able to dispose of their expired flares safely this weekend.

New South Wales Maritime’s collection program begins on Saturday and runs along the entire East Coast.

There will be collections in Yamba and Coffs Harbour on Saturday.

Nambucca Heads and Port Macquarie on Sunday.

And returns in the Manning Valley can be made from Monday morning.

Flares require authorised disposal and have a use-by date of three years.

Boating officers will be stationed at the collection points to assist with any inquiries.
