A 33-year old man is expected to undergo surgery today at the John Hunter Hospital after an alleged stabbing overnight which left him in a critical condition.
It’s alleged the 33-year old was stabbed in the abdomen during an altercation with another man on the corner of Hunter and Bolton Street, Newcastle around 9pm last night.
The alleged attacker, a 46-year old man, was arrested and remains in police custody ahead of his court appearance at Newcastle Local Court later today.
