Police are investigating two separate stabbings in Newcastle and Maitland.
An 18-year-old woman was arrested in Thornton yesterday after allegedly stabbing her male partner with a kitchen knife.
He remains in a stable condition.
An altercation near the old Newcastle Post Office overnight has left a 33-year-old man in a critical condition, after being stabbed in the abdomen.
A 46-year-old man has since been charged.
