A man has died after his car collided with a ute, west of Newcastle early this morning.
The crash occurred just after 5:30 on the M1 Pacific Motorway at West Wallsend, about 200-metres from the O’Donnelltown overpass.
The driver of the ute was taken to John Hunter Hospital, but the male driver of the hatchback died at the scene.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
