More than 20 schools in the Port Macquarie electorate will receive hundreds of thousands of dollars in extra funding in an attempt to lift learning performance in the classroom.
More than $7 million in needs-based funding is being distributed to schools across the region.
The Top Five Schools to benefit:
1. Camden Haven High School – $1,293,844
2. Port Macquarie Public School – $949,590
3. Westport Public School – $865,537
4. Hasting Secondary College, Westport Campus – $792,907
5. Hasting Secondary College, Port Macquarie Campus – $754,082
The funding will be available to address the specific needs of schools such as literacy and numeracy support, teaching training and speech pathology.
Its part of a funding announcement worth more than a billion dollars from the New South Wales government.
