Port Macquarie surfing sensation Matt Banting has proven he’s a force to be reckoned with, despite bowing out of the ASP World Junior Championships in Brazil overnight.
The 19-year-old placed equal third in the title race after meeting his match – Moroccan Ramzi Boukhiam (book-eeyam) – in the semis.
The Moroccan eventually went down to Brazilian Gabriel Medina in a high-scoring final.
