ROYAL COMMISSION COULD ‘ERODE CONFIDENCE’ IN BARNABY JOYCE

With just two days until the New England by-election, Labor candidate David Ewings is continuing to call in party heavyweights to support his campaign.
Joining him today was Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen, who took the opportunity to criticise Malcolm Turnbull’s announcement of a royal commission into banks.
“Malcolm Turnbull, Scott Morrison and Barnaby Joyce voted against a royal commission in the Parliament 23 times over the last 18 months,” Shadow Treasurer, Chris Bowen.
Mr Ewings believes it may affect Barnaby Joyce’s chances.
“To see the Government backflip, a Government that until recently was something that Barnaby Joyce had a leadership role in. I wouldn’t be surprised if it eroded people’s confidence but we’ll have to see on voting day,” Labor Candidate for the New England, David Ewings.
