FUNDING TO BOOST FUTURE DEFENCE JOBS

The state government has announced it’ll contribute $50,000 to help educate young people for future jobs in the Hunter’s defence sector.
The funding will go towards the STEMship program, which aims to increase the uptake of subjects like science, engineering and mathematics.
It also provides an alternative pathway to university for high school students.
The Premier says the funding will ensure a continued flow of skilled workers for the defence industry.
