WATER RESTRICTIONS TO TIGHTEN FROM SATURDAY

Residents at Nundle and Manilla will face tighter water restrictions from this weekend.
It follows low rainfall, with the Peel and Namoi River levels falling.
“Under our drought management plan when flows fall below a certain level that’s the trigger for introducing tighter restrictions,” Bruce Logan, Tamworth Regional Council Director of Water and Waste.
The towns have both been on Permanent Water Conservation Measures since mid-2016.
From Saturday they will move to Level 1 restrictions.
“Under level one restrictions, the only significant change is that you can only use a sprinkler for two hours, between 6pm at night and 8am in the morning.”
