A 33-year-old man has been charged following an alleged break and enter near Newcastle overnight.
Police will allege a man broke into a home in Anderton Street, Islington around 1am.
It’s believed a handbag, wallet, car keys and a Nissan Navara 4WD were allegedly stolen.
The vehicle was recovered in Broadmeadow, and the man was arrested nearby after a short pursuit on foot.
He was taken to Newcastle Police Station and charged with a number of offences.
He was refused bail and is due to appear before Newcastle Local Court today.
