A 73-year-old man remains in hospital with fractured ribs and a collapsed lung, following a light plane crash near Mudgee yesterday.
The man took off in the light aircraft at about 9am, from a rural property.
Witnesses reported seeing the plane flying low over properties at Kains Flat, before stalling and crashing into a paddock and sustaining major damage.
The man was airlifted to Orange Base Hospital.
