Assistance is being sought from the public after a child was allegedly approached by an unknown man near Lake Macquarie.
The 11-year-old boy was riding a bicycle near a sports oval on Thorne Street in Toronto at around 5:30pm on Thursday, when a black utility with tinted windows pulled up beside him on Cook Street.
The male driver twice asked the boy to get into the vehicle, before driving off towards Toronto West.
Police say the number plates of the vehicle were concealed with duct tape.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact police.
