A 27-year-old man is in a serious but stable condition after being assaulted outside a pub in Coffs Harbour’s city centre.
The man was struck in the head just after 12:30 last night on West High Street.
He’s since been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
“He got into an altercation with another male, during that altercation he’s been punched to the head which has rendered him unconscious and he’s fallen to the ground backwards where he struck his head on the pavement.”
Police say a second man fled the scene – but it’s too early in the investigation to confirm if the pair knew each other.
