The Group Four rugby league season will kick off a few weeks later than usual this year.
The board has made the decision to push the opening round back to the weekend of April 28.
The call was made to due a clash with the Greater Northern Rugby League Championships and an NRL game between the Knights and West Tigers in Tamworth.
The proposed draw could also see the grand final moved from Sunday September 9 to the Saturday – but the move will need the support of all clubs.
