OLD FIGHTER TO COME IN FROM THE COLD

An ageing fighter jet that’s stood for more than 30 years as a reminder of the RAAF’s involvement in the region, will receive a badly-needed makeover.
Debate has raged for several years over the future of the Sabre jet, displayed at Raymond Terrace.
Port Stephens Council last night resolved to remove the aircraft and transport it to the Fighter World museum at Williamtown.
Once there, it’s hoped the old jet will undergo a lengthy restoration.
