A welcome funding boost for the Belmont Baths upgrade today, with $432,000 from the state government.
The Lake Macquarie Council project involves the construction of a new jetty, ramp access to deep water, as well as protective swimming mesh on all 3 sides.
The amenities block will also be replaced.
“The amenities block behind us is some 30-40 years old, it’s out of date not up to modern standards, but look the main thing is accessibility into the lake, people being able to enjoy it.”
The old finger jetty was destroyed in 2015 storm.
Work is scheduled to begin in July.
