NAIDOC week and the importance of aboriginal culture was celebrated at Tamworth High School today during a flag raising ceremony.
The service was held a little later this year, due to the week falling in the school holidays.
“It’s a formal occasion for us and for the parents to recognise where we’ve come from and where our heritage is and where the cultural heritage is and where the cultural heritage is of our school of the site we live on and the site we work on.”
Celebrations at school for students will continue throughout the week.
