The future of Newcastle’s Maritime Museum is looking a little unclear.
Its lease is due to expire next month – today landowner, the Hunter Development Corporation, and Newcastle Council said they’re continuing to work to find the right way forward.
All parties say the priority is to preserve the harbourside museum’s 7,000 artefacts.
The council wants to keep the collection in Newcastle, and in public hands.
