ISAAC HEENEY WELCOMES FIRST FEMALES TO SWANS ACADEMY

He’s a graduate of the Swans academy, so it was fitting that Isaac Heeney was on hand last night, to welcome the first female athletes to the club’s Youth Girls Program.
“Had a bit of a speech to them and yeah we talked through what it’s like being in the academy and the opportunity they’ve got in front of them.”
130 girls, including several from the Hunter, will start with a 12-week training program on April 30.
Meanwhile Heeney and his teammates will be looking to continue their strong start to the AFL season when they host Adelaide tomorrow.
“It’s a lot better than last year. We’ve come out and we’re confident. We’re not playing our trademark football but were confident we can play some good football and believe we have over the past 3 out of the 4 weeks.”
