EXCITEMENT BUILDING FOR TORCH RELAY

Excitement is building in the Great Lakes, as it prepares to host the torch relay for the Special Olympics.

The torch, which made its way through Sydney yesterday, will begin its final leg in Forster from 10:30 tomorrow morning.

More than 2,500 competitors from 32 countries are expected to take part in next week’s games, including local swimmer Teila (TEE-LA) Bulmer.

The opening ceremony will be held on Sunday at Newcastle’s Hunter Stadium.
