THREE ARRESTED OVER SOUTH TAMWORTH ROBBERY

A man and two teenage boys have been arrested, following a robbery in South Tamworth on Monday night.
Police allege two boys aged 13 and 17, as well as a 24-year-old man entered the Superette on Hillvue Road.
It’s believed the man, who was armed with a weapon, then assaulted a 62-year-old female shopkeeper, before fleeing with the cash drawer.
“There were a number of suspects who were identified by police in the vicinity on that evening. Detectives were able to review good quality CCTV from the premises yesterday,” Chief Inspector Phil O’Reilly, Oxley Police District Crime Manager.
The teenagers were arrested overnight and were granted strict conditional bail in Tamworth Children’s Court today.
The 24-year-old was arrested this afternoon – he’s charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon and will front court tomorrow.
