Despite missing out, Knights young gun Kalyn Ponga will join the Maroons camp as early as this week, to experience the Origin culture.
Queensland selectors say the 20-year-old is part of their long term plans.
“He’ll come into camp he’ll get in and around these guys get used to state of origin football he’ll be a 10 year player touch wood that he stays healthy but there’s no one denying his ability.”
