This year’s Queen’s birthday honours list has been revealed, with Australia’s sporting men and women firmly in the limelight.
Golden girl of the pool Dawn Fraser has been awarded the highest honour – a Companion of the Order of Australia, while Paralympian Kurt Fearnley has also been recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia.
Other notable recipients including AFL great Bob Skilton, neurosurgeon Professor Brian Owler, and former rugby league player Max Krilich.
