A 28-year-old man has been charged over an armed hold up at East Maitland.
Police released CCTV images of a man after a restaurant on High Street was robbed at knifepoint yesterday.
Officers say he stole cash before taking off towards the railway station.
The man was arrested and charged this morning following the public appeal.
He will face Newcastle Local Court tomorrow.
