MAN BANNED FROM PET OWNERSHIP FOR THREE YEARS

A 21-year-old Muswellbrook man has been banned from owning animals for three years, after he was found guilty on two charges of animal cruelty.
The conviction comes after an RSPCA inspector attended a property on Tindale Street in Muswellbrook, in May this year and found an emaciated white Bull Terrier.
The dog, named Boof, was found to be extremely undernourished and also suffering from fly bite and a severe flea burden.
The accused pleaded guilty to two charges of negligence and was placed on a two-year good behaviour bond and ordered to pay over $4,000 in costs.
Boof has gained 10 kilograms, following five weeks of treatment at Rutherford’s RSPCA Hunter Veterinary Hospital.
